Molder Machine Operator

Molder Machine Operator sets up, operates, and tends machines (injection, compression, or blow molding) to shape plastic, metal, or wood materials into products, following blueprints and specifications. Key duties include monitoring production for quality, trimming/finishing parts, cleaning equipment, and maintaining a safe, organized work area to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Setup: Load raw materials (plastic pellets, metal) into hoppers, adjust machine settings (temperature, pressure, cycle time), and perform mold changes.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products visually or with precision tools for defects like flashing or dimension issues.
- Finishing Tasks: Trim, degate, grind, or deburr parts to remove excess material.
- Maintenance & Safety: Clean molds, lubricate machinery, report maintenance issues, and adhere to safety regulations (e.g., using PPE).
- Documentation: Maintain production logs, tracking cycle times, scrap counts, and downtime.
Job Requirements
- Skills: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical specifications.
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials, often up to 50 lbs.
- Experience: Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is usually required.
