Apprentice Technical Specialist (IT / Systems Focus)

Position Overview

Motivera Search Group is seeking a motivated, tech savvy Apprentice Technical Specialist with a strong interest in IT systems, networking, and hands on problem solving. This role is ideal for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys working with computers, and wants real world experience supporting systems, users, and custom technical solutions.

While exposure to electrical, industrial, or agricultural systems is a plus, this position is primarily focused on IT, computing, and systems support, assisting both internal teams and customers with their technical needs.

This is a learning focused role designed to grow practical skills through hands on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain software across multiple systems
• Build, upgrade, repair, and maintain desktop computers and related hardware
• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks
• Provide IT support to customers, including acting as or coordinating with their IT support function
• Deliver day to day technical support for internal staff and customer personnel
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues both remotely and onsite
• Develop and maintain custom applications, including:
  • Writing and modifying code
  • Creating basic graphics or user interface elements
• Document systems, procedures, configurations, and solutions clearly and accurately
• Assist with special projects related to IT systems, automation, or technology integration

Required Qualifications

• Strong interest in computers, technology, and problem solving
• Hands on experience (formal or informal) with:
  • PC building, upgrading, or hardware repair
  • Software installation and troubleshooting
  • Basic networking concepts (routers, switches, IP configuration)
• Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar)
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical users
• Self-motivated with a demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred / Bonus Skills (Not Required)

• Experience with industrial, electrical, or agricultural technology systems
• Prior IT support, help desk, or customer support experience
• UI/UX design or basic graphic design skills
• Exposure to databases, automation, or IoT systems
• Interest in systems integration or emerging technologies
