Summary of Function

The Building Custodian provides essential custodial support through daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance activities. This role ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all staff, residents, and visitors.

Organizational Responsibilities

As a representative of Motivera Search Group, the Custodian will:

• Support accreditation and regulatory compliance efforts.

• Participate in professional development and childcare training as required by state regulations.
• Manage resources responsibly and report any incidents of abuse or unsafe conditions.
• Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Attend staff meetings and complete documentation as assigned.

Job-Specific Duties

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform daily cleaning: trash disposal, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Conduct weekly tasks: vacuuming, mopping, furniture polishing, and sweeping entrances.
• Assist with resident training and safety education in custodial tasks.
• Complete additional duties as needed: floor buffing/waxing, carpet shampooing, snow removal.
• Interact appropriately and respectfully with residents.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior custodial/maintenance experience preferred.
• Familiarity with custodial equipment preferred.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Physical requirements: bending, lifting, grasping, pushing/pulling, prolonged standing/sitting.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• Must be available for travel as needed.
