Shop Foreman

Location: Godley, TX. 
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This individual will be responsible for supervising shop personnel, maintaining production schedules, ensuring product quality, enforcing safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience and a proven ability to motivate teams and drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor shop employees, including welders, machine operators, and production staff.

  • Assign daily tasks and establish production priorities.

  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards.

  • Train and coach employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices.

  • Monitor workflow efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet company specifications.

  • Enforce workplace safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Conduct routine safety meetings and equipment inspections.

  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of shop equipment as needed.

  • Manage inventory of tools, materials, and production supplies.

  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Communicate production updates, challenges, and progress to management.

  • Foster a positive and productive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing, fabrication, or production experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Experience operating and maintaining shop equipment, including welding equipment, saws, forklifts, and related machinery.

  • Strong leadership and employee development skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Technical training, certifications, or trade school experience preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Manufacturing or fabrication shop leadership.

  • Production scheduling and workflow management.

  • Quality control and safety compliance.

  • Equipment maintenance coordination.
