Position Summary
Motivera Search Group is looking for an experienced Certified Excavation Operator to join a construction team. This position requires hands-on experience operating excavation equipment and performing trenching, utility, and site work.
Candidates must be certified in Trenching and Excavation Operations and have a strong understanding of excavation safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform trenching, excavation, grading, backfilling, and utility work
• Dig trenches to required depths, grades, and specifications
• Work safely around underground utilities and active job sites
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow site plans, grade specifications, and supervisor instructions
• Recognize excavation hazards and unsafe trench or soil conditions
• Follow proper trench protection procedures, including sloping, benching, shoring, and shielding
• Maintain clear communication with crew members and site managers
• Adhere to all company, OSHA, and job-site safety requirements

Requirements

• Current Trenching and Excavation Operations certification required
• Proven experience operating excavators and heavy equipment in construction or industrial settings
• Experience with trenching, excavation, and utility work
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required
• Ability to read site plans and follow verbal instructions
• Strong awareness of job-site safety and potential hazards
• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a crew
• Physical stamina and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings
