General Labor / Material Handler – Metal & Building Materials

Location: Godley Area, TX
Position Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 47.5 hours per week, including approximately 7.5 hours of overtime
Saturday Availability: Must be available to work Saturdays when scheduled. Saturday hours are typically 7:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking dependable General Laborers / Material Handlers for a long-term, temp-to-hire opportunity with an established building-materials company in the Godley area.

This is a hands-on position working primarily in an outdoor/open warehouse and yard environment. Employees will assist customers, prepare and load orders, handle metal and building materials, maintain organized work areas, and learn to operate various material-handling and production equipment.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, working with customers, and learning new equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Load and unload metal and building materials from trucks and trailers
  • Pull, stage, organize, and prepare customer orders
  • Assist customers picking up materials
  • Verify materials against work orders, receipts, and order paperwork
  • Safely handle long, bulky, and occasionally heavy materials
  • Operate material-handling and strapping equipment
  • Assist with manual metal cutting and fabrication equipment
  • Learn to operate manual CNC machinery and cutting equipment as needed
  • Operate a forklift after training when required
  • Keep warehouse, yard, and customer-loading areas clean and organized
  • Follow all company safety procedures
  • Perform additional warehouse, yard, and general labor duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure
  • Able to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in changing Texas weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around metal, building materials, machinery, trucks, and trailers
  • Must be willing to learn equipment and machinery
  • Forklift experience is helpful but not required — training may be provided
  • Good verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Must work respectfully and professionally with customers, supervisors, and coworkers
  • Dependable transportation and ability to report to work on time
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are required
  • Must be available for overtime and Saturdays when scheduled
  • Cell phones are not permitted in work areas during working hours
