Shop Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic

Pay Rate: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 50 hours per week (40 regular + approximately 10 overtime)

Position Summary

Motivera Search Group is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with an established building materials company in the Godley area.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical experience performing routine maintenance and general repairs on company vehicles, trailers, and tractor-trailers. This position is best suited for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, comfortable working with tools, and able to diagnose and complete basic non-electrical repairs.

Welding experience is a plus but is not required.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on company vehicles, trailers, and equipment

• Complete oil and filter changes

• Diagnose and replace water pumps

• Repair and change flat tires

• Inspect and service company trailers and tractor-trailers

• Perform basic mechanical and trailer repairs

• Inspect brakes, tires, hoses, belts, fluids, and other mechanical components

• Identify worn or damaged parts and communicate needed repairs

• Perform basic non-electrical mechanical troubleshooting

• Use hand tools, power tools, jacks, and other shop equipment safely

• Keep tools, equipment, and the shop/work area clean and organized

• Assist with preventative maintenance to help keep company equipment operational and safe

• Perform minor welding or fabrication work when qualified

• Assist with other shop and maintenance duties as needed

Qualifications

• Previous mechanic, trailer repair, fleet maintenance, or related mechanical experience preferred

• Experience performing oil changes, tire repairs, water pump replacement, and general mechanical maintenance

• Comfortable working on trailers and tractor-trailers

• Ability to safely use common mechanic hand and power tools

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Welding experience is a plus, but not required

• Ability to perform physical work, including standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working around vehicles and equipment

• Dependable attendance and ability to work the full scheduled shift

• Must be available for approximately 50 hours per week, including scheduled overtime

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience

Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM

Approximately 50 hours per week, consisting of:

• 40 hours regular time

• Approximately 10 hours overtime

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential for long-term employment.
