Position Summary

Motivera Search Group is seeking an experienced Service & Maintenance Superintendent to oversee the service, maintenance, and repair operations for a fleet of vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. This leadership role is responsible for managing maintenance personnel, implementing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs, maintaining accurate equipment records, and ensuring fleet reliability while minimizing downtime.

The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory experience, mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the service and maintenance department.
• Supervise, train, and motivate service and maintenance employees.
• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for all company vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
• Coordinate and prioritize service and repair activities to minimize downtime.
• Manage relationships with third-party repair vendors and service providers.
• Track equipment maintenance history, warranties, repairs, and replacement schedules.
• Maintain accurate fleet records, including equipment status and repair estimates.
• Conduct or oversee minor repairs and troubleshooting activities.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Communicate upcoming maintenance and repair requirements to project managers and field supervisors.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety standards and applicable regulations.
• Investigate and report misuse or abuse of company equipment and vehicles.
• Provide timely updates and reports to management regarding maintenance activities and fleet status.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a service and maintenance shop environment.
• Experience managing vehicle, truck, and equipment maintenance operations.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to perform light repairs on vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Proven leadership and employee management experience.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and fleet management practices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, superintendents, and field personnel.
• Working knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must provide personal tools necessary to perform assigned work.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl throughout the workday.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must possess adequate vision, depth perception, color recognition, hearing, and tactile senses necessary to safely perform job duties.

Work Environment

• Primarily works in maintenance shops and outdoor environments.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, and ice.
• Occasional travel between job sites, maintenance facilities, and company offices may be required.
• Extended hours, weekends, and emergency repair work may be necessary based on operational needs.

• Maintaining effective communication with management regarding fleet activities.
• Achieving minimal equipment downtime through preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Maintaining fleet downtime below established company targets.
• Ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate service, repair, and maintenance records.
• Attending and actively participating in company meetings.
• Completing assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
