Manual Machinist – Mill & Lathe Operations

Position Overview

Motivera Search Group is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist with strong proficiency in manual mill and lathe operations. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce, repair, and modify parts according to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual milling machines and lathes

• Machine parts to specified dimensions and tolerances

• Perform turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, and milling operations

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions

• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)

• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machine settings

• Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality

• Make necessary machine and tooling adjustments

• Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Follow all shop safety procedures and required PPE guidelines

• Assist with additional shop duties as needed
   

  Requirements

• Previous manual machining experience with mills and lathes required

• Strong knowledge of manual mill and lathe setup and operation

• Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances

• Experience using precision measuring instruments

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions

• Comfortable working in a loud industrial/shop environment

• Dependable with consistent, punctual attendance

• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
