Position Overview

Motivera Search Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Civil Project Manager to lead large-scale civil construction and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through project completion. This leadership role is responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, client relationships, subcontractor performance, risk mitigation, and overall project execution while ensuring safety, quality, and profitability objectives are achieved.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven track record managing complex civil construction projects, including roadway, bridge, utility, site development, water/wastewater, and other heavy civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of project execution, including planning, procurement, scheduling, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage multiple civil construction projects ranging from $10 million to $100+ million in value.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, public agencies, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Lead project meetings and provide executive-level reporting to company leadership and clients.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection, negotiations, procurement, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams during bid and proposal development.
  • Manage change orders, claims, contract administration, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including cost controls, billing, collections, and forecasting.
  • Mentor and develop Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and other field personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to organizational growth and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Proven experience managing projects valued at $20 million or greater.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods.
  • Demonstrated success managing schedules, budgets, contracts, and project teams.
  • Experience with public and private sector infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software, including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, HCSS, or similar platforms.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing project profitability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience with DOT, municipal, utility, transportation, or water/wastewater projects.
  • Background managing self-perform construction operations.
  • Design-build and alternative delivery experience highly desirable.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary: $120,000-$160,000+ (commensurate with experience)
